Searching for the Right Texas Auto Insurance

When you own a car in Texas, you need to abide by their law of financial responsibility by having a Texas auto insurance policy. As a resident living there, you need to concern yourself with finding an affordable insurance coverage. But how can this be when liability and property damage premiums in this state are high?

You have to shop carefully for the right Texas auto insurance coverage. You need to consider two options to make your decision right – are you underinsured that is why you have low premiums; or are you paying high because you are over insured? You need to be covered essentially which means your coverage should include medical expenses, car repairs, car theft and other relevant items. This cuts down your expenses for auto insurance premiums.

]]>

When you shop for car insurance in Texas, you need to determine the amount of coverage needed. Texans usually choose to buy policies based on the state’s required minimum liability insurance. Few people include additional coverage to make it complete but you will likely pay more money for this. Remember what is important is to be properly insured especially during accidents.

Collision and comprehensive are the usual add-ons by insurers. This covers physical damage especially when the car is new. As you need not shoulder expenses for deductibles, these cover for car repairs and losses. If your car has no significant value, then why pay for these add-ons as it will only cost you a lot of money for premiums.

If auto insurance is becoming increasingly difficult for you to pay, then you have probably considered ways to reduce your payments. There are the typical ways to save like paying higher deductibles, limiting the amount and type of coverage. When considering ways to save money this year, auto insurance should be at the top of your list. Getting a better rate on auto insurance can help you afford the high expense of gas.

Comparison shopping also gives you better choices for Texas auto insurance. You will be looking around for the best insurance company that gives you the best deals. All you need to do is ask for price quotes from agents, direct insurers or search through the Internet. And you can compare its features that direct you to your choice of insurance company.

Understanding Texas Auto Insurance Laws

The Main Points of Minimum Texas Insurance

Liability limits are 30,000 for bodily injury or death to one person and 60,000 for bodily injury or death to two or more people.
Liability Texas auto insurance also means a minimum of 25,000 in coverage for damage or destruction of property.
Texas does offer the choice to post financial bond and provide self-insurance in lieu of a traditional Texas insurance policy.

What Other Rules Govern Texas Auto Insurance?

You will find that in Texas, you must carry policy minimums on every single car that you own. Proof of insurance is required to be in the vehicle at all times, and driving a motor vehicle without this proof will result in fines between 5 and 0 for a first offense, with fines increasing for subsequent offenses. If you are caught without proof of insurance three times, your driving privileges will be suspended. It is also important to note that insurance is required on your vehicle before you will be allowed to register it with the state.

]]>

Don’t Let Your Texas Auto Insurance Lapse

If you live in the state of Texas and have a vehicle registered with the DMV, a lapse in coverage will be automatically reported. Allowing your coverage to lapse can result in license suspension if you are caught driving. Maintaining auto insurance in Texas is absolutely crucial. You should be aware that in most jurisdictions of Texas, the law enforcement authorities have the ability to electronically check your coverage status despite what your id card in the glovebox indicates. Also law enforcement in Texas can now tow your car if you do not have current liablility coverage whether or not you have been involved in an accident.

Why Do I Need Insurance?

If you are trying to understand why Texas insurance is mandatory, consider this. No matter how excellent your driving skills may be, all it takes is a moment of distraction or even a flat tire to send your vehicle out of control, damaging property and possibly even hurting or killing someone. Without Texas auto insurance, you would be held liable for all expenses, and without the money to pay, injured parties may not be able to receive proper care. Insurance laws protect you as well as others, and maintaining mandatory minimum insurance isn’t just recommended, it’s the law.

American National releases Insured2Go iPhone App Offering Impressive Array of Insurance-Related Features

Springfield, MO (PRWEB) September 22, 2011

American National takes a personal interest in helping its clients protect what they value most. Realizing that the way people receive their information has been rapidly shifting in recent years, American National developed Insured2Go, a new iPhone app that offers an extensive list of insurance-related services and features. Even those not currently insured with American National will find the app’s functionalities to be useful in the event of a roadside emergency or auto accident. The app is available free of charge at the Apple App Store.

The release of the app follows the recent optimization of anpac.com for mobile browsers. Key features of Insured2Go include the following:

Report or check the status of a claim
    Review policy information
    Receive roadside assistance
    Locate nearby vehicle repair shops
    Make a payment
Contact information for your local agent
    Display current insurance card
Quick Exchange feature to provide your insurance card information to others via email

Insured2Go allows users to quickly place a call to 911 if they have an emergency. App users can also search for nearby vehicle repair shops and roadside service providers. For clients who have added Easy Tow® roadside assistance to their American National auto policy, the app also allows users to call for help or for a tow directly through the app.

The app also helps record critical information needed to file an auto claim. With Insured2Go, users are taken through a series of questions that will help them quickly gather information that they will need later – what type of loss occurred, when it happened, where it happened, who was involved, the location of the damage/impact and the opportunity to upload photos of the vehicles and the accident scene. Once the information has been completed and saved, current American National clients can use it to report a claim directly through the app.

In the event of an auto accident, it is crucial to exchange information with the other drivers involved. Insured2Go offers Quick Exchange, which will quickly email a copy of American National insurance ID cards.

Details about losses to farms, homes or businesses can also be recorded through the app and used to report a claim. If a client has an existing claim, they can check its status through Insured2Go.

But the app isn’t just useful for reporting claims or roadside assistance. Current American National clients can manage all of their policies through the application. They can review policy information (coverage limits, policy term, etc.), make a payment and display their current insurance card.

A complement to the convenience of Insured2Go is free, personalized service provided by American National agents. While the services provided by the app, and mobile-optimized website, are convenient while on-the-go, there is something to be said for knowing that there is a real person who genuinely takes a personal interest in helping you protect everything that you value most. Both current and prospective clients can find their local agent through Insured2Go or the ANPAC website.

Insured2Go is the fourth iPhone application created by the American National Family of Companies. The free CHROME iPhone Application, originally released in October 2009, was designed for classic car enthusiasts. Key features of the app include a collector car price guide, a road-trip journal, car show information and a photo gallery of collector vehicles. American National also released the free CHROME Quarter-Mile Challenge Drag Race app in April 2010, which allows users the opportunity to experience the thrill of virtually drag racing a classic car. Farm Family, part of the American National Family of Companies, recently launched the Harvest to Hand app, which provides consumers with information about local agricultural events and where to buy fresh farm products and homespun goods.

Texas Hyundai Helps You Choose the Better Deal: Trade in the Used Car or Sell

Is it time for a new Hyundai from Texas Hyundai? If you’re looking to get a new car, what will you do with the car you’re driving around in now? If you aren’t keeping it, you have two main options: to trade it in or sell it yourself. Here are a few things to consider when you’re choosing between trading in a car or selling it yourself:

Texas State Trade-in Tax Breaks

In Texas, trading in a car helps you save money on the taxes you have to pay on your new car. With a trade in, you only pay tax on the difference in price between the new car and the trade in value. If you trade in a car worth ,000 and you buy a Hyundai worth ,000, you pay tax on ,000 instead of ,000. Depending on the value of your trade in, the savings can really add up and make trading in the car a better option than selling it yourself.

Which Method Lets You Make More Money?

If you think you can sell the car yourself and get more than we offer you for the trade in, then you can always give it a try and see if it sells for the price you want for it. Check Kelley Blue Book to see how much they think the car will sell for, and see how it compares to what we can offer you as a trade-in. Keep in mind the sales tax benefit will reduce the price of your new car on a trade in.

iMingle? Insurance Launches in New Jersey with Group Buying for Car Insurance

iMingle® Insurance Launches in New Jersey with Group Buying for Car Insurance

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) September 20, 2011

iMingle® Insurance announced today that it has launched in New Jersey as the first direct-to-consumer insurance provider to offer group buying for auto insurance. Utilizing a new marketing approach for direct-to-consumer insurance, iMingle allows individual policyholders to qualify for group discounts – and potentially save hundreds of dollars – by tapping into the collective buying power of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.

“Our success is building and within just a few months, iMingle is now available in 17 states,” said Michael Z. Stahl, iMingle’s vice president of marketing and operations. “As we continue to expand into new markets, our customers benefit from an extended network of friends and family with whom to share group buying discounts. Whether it’s a friend in New Jersey or a cousin in Arizona, we’ve made it easy to use social media channels to link policies and save money.”

Launched in 2010, iMingle is aimed at what the company calls the i Generation, those consumers who routinely turn to their social networks to find information, compare deals and seek recommendations from their peers. For the first time, an insurance provider has developed its marketing strategy specifically to meet the needs – and expectations – of these policyholders by rewarding them for two things they are already doing: using social media and buying insurance.

Most insurance companies offer discounts if you insure multiple cars within a household. iMingle takes this concept a step further by allowing consumers to link, or “mingle,” their policies with those of their friends, so they can both benefit from the iMingle Network® Discount of 10 percent. This is on top of iMingle’s other policy discounts, which can save customers up to 50 percent or more.

The sharing process is simple. When a customer purchases an iMingle auto policy, they can use a widget to let their friends know about the available discount. They have over a dozen choices for how they want to share their exclusive iMingle discount link, including email, instant messaging, blogging, and social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. If a friend clicks on the link and also purchases a policy – and both agree to the iMingle safety pledge – both customers get an extra 10 percent discount.

iMingle’s group buying component is believed to be the first in the insurance industry. However, it is not the only way iMingle customers can save money. Other policy discounts include:

Preferred Payer Discount™ – the more customers pay up front, the more they save (with the greatest savings by those paying in full)
Free-A-Tree® Discount – a five percent discount for drivers who get quotes and sign up online and enroll in the Easy-Pay automatic payment service
Retro Loyalty Discount™ – iMingle rewards customers for their loyalty to their previous insurance carrier based on the length of their relationship
Safe & Sound® Discount – additional discount for continuously insured drivers without accidents or moving violations for at least three years
Happily Married Discount™ – married couples, happy or not, qualify for a discount, as do legally recognized civil unions and domestic partnerships

iMingle also bundles popular coverage options into convenient and affordable packages:

Protect Your Sanity® – includes Roadside Assistance, Rental Car Reimbursement and Trip Interruption
Protect Your Wallet® – includes Price Lock™, Accident Forgiveness, Renewal Assurance guarantee and Disappearing Deductible (which allows customers to take $ 100 off their collision deductible right away and another $ 100 for each year they go without an accident)
Protect Your Family – includes Car Seat Replacement, Dependent and Pet Protection

In addition to New Jersey, iMingle is now available in 16 other states: Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin. Renters insurance is also available in New Jersey.

In addition to the iMingle emphasis on social media platforms, the company uses a variety of other tools to serve the techno-centric, i Generation consumer. Some recent additions include a new instant bill-paying site using QR code and an iMingle Insurance iPhone App, which provides drivers with a more convenient way to manage their insurance policies anytime and anywhere.

Connect with iMingle and its highly sociable green mascot, iMingle Max, on Twitter and Facebook.

(Please note: The term “group buying” as used in this press release is intended to mean collective buying in the social context and not the purchasing of insurance as part of an employer-sponsored group or other affinity association.)

iMingle is part of Kemper Corporation (NYSE: KMPR), which has over $ 8 billion in assets and an A- (Excellent) Rating from A.M. Best Company for insurance operations. More information is available at imingle.com or by calling 800-315-0473.

Is optional insurance needed when you’re renting a car?

You’re standing at the car rental counter waiting to start your vacation when you’re asked a tricky question. Do you want to buy damage waivers, also known as car rental insurance? How will you answer?

“Knowing if you need to buy rental insurance can save you money and give you peace of mind,” says Lucas Ziegler with Texas Prime Insurance. “Optional insurance could nearly double the cost of the rental. Do your homework and know before you leave to rent that car.”

Here are some pointers:

Review your policy with your Texas Auto Insurance Agent. Your agent can evaluate your personal car insurance policy to find out if you are covered in a vacation rental car.

Check with your credit card company. Some credit cards provide coverage at no charge if you use their card to pay for the rental. However, some restrictions may apply. Be sure to ask for an exact description of what’s covered.

]]>

Take your insurance policy “Declarations Page” with you to the rental counter. You may be asked a question that these papers can answer. If you’re not sure of an answer, you’ll have your agent’s name and phone number readily available.

Coverage:

With most Texas Auto Insurance Policies, coverage automatically extends to a rental car. For example, if you only have liability insurance on your Texas Auto Insurance Policy, then the coverage will extend to the rental cal for up to the policy liability limit. If you have comprehensive and collision coverage on your Texas Auto Insurance Policy, this coverage will automatically extend to you rental car. Remember policy deductibles will also apply.

Beware! There are some limited auto insurance policies sold in Texas which don’t extend coverage to a rental car. These type of policies are named limited policies or named driver policy. These type of policies are usually sold with overall limited coverage, so be careful. When you are purchasing, take this into account.

Advantages about buying insurance from the rental car place;

The only advantage found on buying the insurance product from the rental car place is that in case of an accident, a lower or not deductible may apply and any claim reported on this rental car will not affect your claims record with your personal auto policy (only if you purchase the rental car insurance). The entire claim is left to the car rental place and you get to have peace of mind. If you file a claim under your personal policy, you will have to directly be involved the claims process until the claim is settled.

“Generally, if you have comprehensive, collision and liability coverages on your personal car insurance policy, there’s a good chance you’ll be covered in a rental car,” says Lucas Ziegler. “Check with your agent to be sure. If you are covered, you would be liable only for the deductible on comprehensive and collision coverages, just like your personal vehicle.”

Bottom line, contact you agent to verify if you are covered on a rental car, at the end of the day, it is your decision and being informed can save you money.
